Quarter Two
1. As I researched I discovered what I wanted to write my research paper on. I had planned to write about how the paranormal became a media phenomenon, but that topic was too broad. Instead I decided to focus of the cultural impact of a particular ghost. I zoomed in on the real story of Beatrice Cenci, a real person who became a famous ghost story. I connected my research pertaining to the history of ghosts with my paper, which regarded the political, emotional and psychological reasoning behind creating a ghost story, and why ghosts are relevant in societies.
2. My mentor and I meet almost every day, as she is my English teacher, but relating specifically to my project my mentor and I meet in person every few weeks in the early mornings to discuss where I am at currently and where I am going. My mentor is also my proof-reader for my Travel Guide sections, which she does via Google Docs. According to both of us I am on track and exactly where I should be at this point in the process, and I am set to graduate upon its completion.
3. I need to step up my game, and write more. I have written several sections for the project, but if I want to have nine or ten sections by the end of the year I need to buckle down and write a lot more. I have full faith that I can do it, I simply need to motivate myself to sit down and type up a storm. I also need to format my book, once it’s finished, so it will appear official and real when I use it as my product. Still, I am on track to finish in a timely manner if I continue onwards with determination and drive.
